Who We Are
Angela and Alina founded Money Not Magic (MNM). They are both seniors at North Allegheny School District. Together, they won first place in the Financial Literacy Project event at the 2021 PA DECA state conference. In the summer of 2020, they wrote and published a book called Growing Your Money Tree: An Introduction to Personal Finance (see more under the Growing Your Money Tree tab) which introduces personal finance to middle school and high school. They started Money Not Magic shortly after to further spread financial literacy among youth.

For now, though, she enjoys writing and eating Ramen when she is not busy spreading financial literacy.

Our Mission
Money Not Magic is a community project designed to educate youth about various topics in finance. Our goal is to spread financial literacy starting at a young age. Too often are young adults thrown into the adult world without knowing basics like how to open a credit card or create a budget. We aim to change that by introducing "adult"Â topics like investing and loans to middle-school and early high-school students at a kid-friendly level, incorporating games and interactive activities.
Our Story

Usually people talk about how qualified they are to teach about the subject by citing their successes. We're the exact opposite. Watch this video to learn about our story.
